[Breaking News] Chris Jericho Released From LCW

The Legends Championship Wrestling Board of Directors announced today that Chris Jericho had been released from his contract. LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway said, "This is in no way a reflection on Chris Jericho. He's an amazing performer and an incredible talent and will defiantly be in LCW again one day. However, right now, he just doesn't fit in to the current scene in Legends Championship Wrestling. But again, he will defiantly be back in LCW one day and we look forward to his return."

Chris Jericho debuted on LCW Showdown on September 21, 2005, alongside Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Shane Douglas, and Dean Malenko as the Modern Tradition (later renaming themselves the Young Lions.) Jericho 's last appearance in LCW was the same week that Dean Malenko was released, August 2, 2006. Jericho confronted Calaway and demanded to know why LCW had released Malenko. Calaway put Jericho in a loser leaves LCW match against Paul Orndorff, a match that Jericho won. However, this would be his last appearance in LCW.
