[News Update] Nick Bockwinkel Announced as 2007 WWE Hall of Fame Inductee

Last night on WWE Monday Night Raw, LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel was announced as the fourth inductee into the 2007 Class of the WWE Hall of Fame, joining "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, Jerry "The King" Lawler, and the late "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig, all former LCW Legends.

Bockwinkel has been the LCW Commissioner for the better part of its existence and while they used to be friends, LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway, who is currently serving a two week Board of Directors imposed suspension for the recent unexplained firing of several Legends, including Rhodes, said in a released statement: "Commissioner Bockwinkel and I have had our differences in the past and we probably always will as we have different philosophies on just about everything, but I do respect him and think he's very deserved of being in the WWE Hall of Fame."

Calaway selected Bockwinkel to be the LCW Commissioner in September of 2005 to handle the day-to-day in ring rulings and decision making when he wasn't available. While they have clashed many times in the past as the two most powerful men in LCW, they have an equally admitted mutual respect for each other. In a telephone interview, Bockwinkel said, "I respect Calaway and all he's done to honor the legends of professional wrestling with Legends Championship Wrestling and I'm proud to be a part of it as Commissioner."
