[News Update] Four Legends Released from LCW Roster
Terry Taylor has made quite an impact during his short time in LCW, winning the LCW Heritage Championship twice from Kevin Von Erich earlier this year. We understand that Taylor was released due to his current commitments with TNA.
Fred Ottman, better known as Tugboat, has been a part of LCW almost from the inception. Ottman debuted in LCW as Typhoon and teaming with partner John Tenta (Earthquake) as The Natural Disasters. After Tenta passed away last year, Typhoon disappeared for awhile before returning as Tugboat. However, he hasn't made quite the impact he did as one half of the Natural Disasters.
Outback Jack has been the subject of much discussion amongst the legends in LCW, the discussion focusing on why he was invited to be a part of the LCW roster in the first place. He was originally invited for a one time appearance on an episode of Showdown in February as an opponent for Lex Luger during his feud with Steve Williams which saw an impromptu "anything you can do I can do better" competition between Luger and Williams. Outback Jack was hit with a Torture Rack from Luger, a shoulderbreaker from Williams, a powerslam from Luger, a powerbomb from Williams, and a piledriver from Luger before the two men stopped and turned their attention to each other. As a result of the attack from Luger and Williams, Outback Jack was injured and out of action until April. Outback Jack only wrestled twice more in LCW, a loss to Butch Reed in April (his return match after the attack) and another loss to Tully Blanchard in June. One legend who refered to Outback Jack as "Outback Whack" said he didn't think we'd see Jack in LCW ever again adding, "...at least I hope not."
Buddy Roberts' release wasn't unexpected as he was only back on the roster temporarily to appear at LCW SuperClash 2007 in a match against fellow former Freebird, Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin. Roberts was never officially signed to the roster again after his release earlier in the year when he was managing the Freebirds (Michael Hayes and Jimmy Garvin) before he was replaced by Precious who came in to manage the team.
