[News Update] Top Stars Leaving WWE Soon? Soon to be Legends in LCW?

LegendsChampionshipWrestling.com has received several emails about the rumors of WWE superstar Mark Henry's contract expiring soon. Rumor has it that Henry's contract is expected to expire soon and he's not expected to renew his contract. However, it's not known if he does intend to leave WWE or if it's a negotiating tactic. The Undertaker is scheduled to make his return at WWE Unforgiven in a match with Mark Henry. Vince McMahon had debated whether to have The Undertaker return at WWE Summerslam this Sunday, but reportedly decided to go with having him return at WWE Unforgiven, partially because it was felt it would send a bad message to talent regarding coming back too soon from injury.

In a telephone interview, LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway said of Henry, "I don't know if there's really a lot of interest in ever featuring Mark Henry in Legends Championship Wrestling. He's had ten years in the WWE to become a star and has either been stuck in a mid-card position or stuck on the sidelines with injuries. He's just been unable to take it to that next level and he's had many opportunities. And if he were ever to be featured in Legends Championship Wrestling, it wouldn't be for several years as he's not a part of the generation of guys we're currently featuring. And there are so many other bonifide legends who deserve to be a part of this roster before he is even considered."

Also, rumors are swirling about Ric Flair and his rumored retirement from active competition after WrestleMania 24. Flair, who will be 59 at the time of WrestleMania 24, was a part of Legends Championship Wrestling before all active WWE and TNA talent were removed from the roster to make the product more authentic and realistic. Calaway said of a possible return to LCW for the former LCW Universal Champion, "I'd love to feature Ric Flair in Legends Championship Wrestling again, but just because he might be retiring from active in-ring competition, or rumored to be retiring at least, doesn't mean he's not going to be an integral part of the WWE product as a manager or possibly road agent. If WWE were to actually let him leave the company and actually retire, which I don't see happening, but if that were to happen I would seriously question that decision, because there's too much value to what Flair can offer off-camera for the young guys coming up, value that they desperately need. But if he completely retires and takes that next step and leaves WWE, he will definantely be a featured legend in Legends Championship Wrestling again, but I just don't see him completely leaving WWE. I think he's going to be a fixture in that company for the rest of his life."
