[Throwback Thursday] StarrCade '85: Magnum TA vs. Tully Blanchard
The two men feuded for the better part of four months in 1985, a war which culminated in an epic battle at "StarrCade '85: The Gathering" on November 28, 1985, in an "I Quit" steel cage match for the NWA United States Championship, perhaps the most brutal steel cage matches in professional wrestling history and certainly the match that, in our opinion, stole the show and remains a classic today.
Almost twenty-two years later, the outcome was still the same last night on LCW Showdown, albeit without the brutality of the steel cage, with Magnum TA walking away with the gold, this time the LCW Heritage Championship. And let's not forget the very vocal and very beautiful Baby Doll who was in the corner of Tully Blanchard then and was in Blanchard's corner last night at LCW Showdown and looked as lovely last night as she did in 1985.
