[News Update] Backstage News: Eugene/Cryme Tyme Firings, More

According to reports, Tommy Dreamer was said to have been approached about helping to fill the void left by Mike Bucci's release from WWE this week. Bucci originally replaced Dreamer in the role, so it is a move that makes sense until the company finds someone to fill the position full-time. The two top names expected to fill the position are Val Venis and Ty Bailey. Bailey is an office executive who works under John Laurinaitis, while Venis has been expected to take on an office role after a long role as a performer with the WWE.

It is also being reported that Nick "Eugene" Dinsmore was escorted from last night's Smackdown and ECW television tapings in Cincinnati, OH. Dinsmore was informed he was released from the company and was then led out of the building. He had been previously scheduled to take on a role in Ohio Valley Wrestling to work with young talent. Dinsmore was said to have been in complete shock about his release from WWE. Former developmental talent Chris Cage, who was released before for a Wellness Policy issue, was also escorted out of the tapings where he was scheduled to work as an extra.

WWE will begin testing for marijuana soon. A positive will not result in a suspension, but all positives will be met with a fine of at least $1,000 per offense.

As noted earlier, Cryme Tyme was fired today after reportedly getting into an disagreement with Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch at last night's Raw house show in Terre Haute, IN.
