[Have You Heard?] Dr. Death Steve Williams...Isn't...A Fan?

"Dr. Death" Steve Williams joined Legends Championship Wrestling on the phone last weekend to produce a promo for the "Have You Heard?" campaign, a series of promos that features the legends of professional wrestling showing their support for LCW, the premier online fantasy wrestling organization. Williams joins Diamond Dallas Page, Manny Fernandez, Missy Hyatt, and Baby Doll who have all previously recorded promos for the "Have You Heard?" campaign.

The legendary Williams cut the fifth promo in the "Have You Heard?" campaign series on Sunday telling the world that while he wasn't a fan of anybody (he never said he wasn't a fan of Legends Championship Wrestling), he was a featured legend in Legends Championship Wrestling. The promo can be heard on LegendsChampionshipWrestling.com in the Audio section on the sidebar along with the previously recorded promos from Diamond Dallas Page, Manny Fernandez, Missy Hyatt, and Baby Doll.

LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway said in a telephone interview with LegendsChampionshipWrestling.com, "This was one of the best promos we've gotten from a legend because 'Dr. Death' stayed true to his character. When he dropped that promo on us, we were all so estatic because it was just so classic. This is a truly great moment for Legends Championship Wrestling as we continue to grow and get noticed and gain the support of the legends. 'Dr. Death' got it and it was amazing to speak with a legend that understand the concept of Legends Championship Wrestling and supports what we're trying to do. I just can't say enough good about this guy. He's been through so much, especially with his bout with throat cancer, but just like his character in the ring he's managed to persevere and beat cancer just like he beats his opponents."

"Dr. Death" has been an integral part of the Legends Championship Wrestling since its inception in 2005. In 2006, after spending much of 2005 as a member of Capt. Lou Albano's heel faction "Albano's Army" (with Bam Bam Bigelow, Paul Orndorff, and Don Muraco), Williams reunited with Cowboy Bill Watts who signed on as Dr. Death's manager and has since guided him to the LCW United States Championship and the LCW Television Championship. During his time in LCW, Williams has had memorable feuds with the likes of the late, great Bam Bam Bigelow, Diamond Dallas Page, and Lex Luger, among others.

Williams made an impact at the Survival Project pay-per-view gauntlet tournament in 2006 (LCWSurvivalProject.com) when he eliminated six men before being eliminated by Bam Bam Bigelow. During a match with Lex Luger, the audience even began to voice their approval and support for the heel Williams who was the number one contender for the LCW International Championship for a while with six eliminations at the event until Magnum TA broke the single-night elimination record with eight eliminations.

Calaway said, "I wouldn't have dreamed of starting LCW without 'Dr. Death' as a featured legend. He's got such an incredible legacy in this business, both in the States and in Japan, and he is without a doubt a legend. Getting the support of the legends themselves in the product that they're featured in is so important and 'Dr. Death' has been wonderful in helping us with this promo. We say we're the 'premier online fantasy wrestling organization', but this really helps to cement that statement with some credibility and I can't thank him enough for helping us."
