[Breaking News] Manny Fernandez Demands Rematch with Abdullah the Butcher

Former LCW Television Champion "The Raging Bull" Manny Fernandez had pleanty to say when LegendsChampionshipWrestling.com contacted him this afternoon, less than 24 hours after he lost the LCW Television Championship in a controversial match last night on LCW Showdown.

Only moments before getting into the ring to defend his title against his longtime rival, Abdullah the Butcher, Fernandez was interviewed by Mean Gene Okerlund about pride. Fernandez spoke of being a proud American, being a proud legend in Legends Championship Wrestling, and being proud of his reign as LCW Television Champion.

During the match between Abdullah and Fernandez on last night's LCW Showdown, the referee was accidentally knocked out and Abdullah's manager, Gary Hart, called out another of his charges, "The Ugandan Giant" Kamala. With the referee unconscious, Kamala and Abdullah were able to assault the fallen champion. However, before too much damage could be inflicted on Fernandez, an unlikely ally in the form of Iceman King Parsons made his way to the ring to even the odds.

When Parsons made his debut last November at the LCW Redemption Day pay-per-view, he found himself in a similar situation: coming to the aid of Fernandez who was outnumbered and being attacked by the Brothahood only moments after winning the LCW Television Championship from then-Brothahood member Koko B. Ware. Parsons came to the ring with a steel chair to save Parsons from the Brothahood only to blast him with a steel chair only seconds after chasing the Brothahood out of the ring. Parsons went on to join the Brothahood and feuded with Fernandez.

A series of matches between the two saw Fernandez often coming out on the winning side, keeping good to his word as he promised that Parsons would be the first brick in the wall of the Brothahood that he would eliminate. However, during their feud, Parsons developed a respect for Fernandez which prompted him come to the ring to save Fernandez last night on LCW Showdown.

After Parsons came to the ring to save Fernandez, he was distracted by Kamala who immediately tried to attack him. As Parsons brawled with Kamala, Gary Hart handed something to Abdullah before running out of the ring from Parsons who turned his attention to the manager. When Parsons turned around, he saw Abdullah lighting a fireball that Abdullah was going to use on Fernandez. However, Parsons pushed Fernandez out of the way and Abdullah hit Parsons with the fireball instead of Fernandez. As Parsons writhed in pain on the mat, Fernandez went to check on the fallen Parsons. Abdullah approached Fernandez from behind, grabbed him and rolled him up with a schoolboy pinfall for the win to become the new LCW Television Champion. After the match, Fernandez accompanied Parsons as he was taken from ringside on a stretcher while medics tended to his burned face and eyes.

When LegendsChampionshipWrestling.com spoke with Fernandez today he said he had already spoken with the LCW Board of Directors and had demanded a rematch with Abdullah the Butcher. Fernandez told LegendsChampionshipWrestling.com, "I went to the Board of Directors today and said I wanted a rematch next week with Abby, but they said I'd have to wait until Showdown next week for an answer. I don't care if it's Showdown next week or the LCW Descent pay-per-view in Japan, I want Abby in the ring one-on-one, daddy. I want my title back and I want retribution, not only for myself, but also for my friend Iceman Parsons.

When asked about his renewed friendship with Parsons, Fernandez said, "Iceman proved himself last night, daddy. He proved he was a man of honor. He saw something wrong going down and he stepped up like a man and helped me out when I needed him the most. We've been through a lot of crap recently and I put a lot of that on Slick brainwashing him with that Brothahood garbage, but he's breaking free, man. The Iceman I know is back, daddy, and he proved he's back last night. I'm glad I can call Iceman a friend again and Abby and that slime Gary Hart are going to learn that you don't mess with the Raging Bull without getting the horns, but when you mess with my friends you're going to get a whole lot more."

Tune into LCW Showdown next Wednesday at 8PM EST/5PM PST only on LCWShowdown.com to find out if the LCW Board of Directors will grant Fernandez's request for a rematch with the new LCW Television Champion Abdullah the Butcher.
