[Breaking News] Rowdy Roddy Piper Released From LCW

LCW Founder Christian Calaway announced today on behalf of the LCW Board of Directors that Rowdy Roddy Piper would no longer be featured in LCW storylines.

This is a direct result of his recent string of appearances on World Wrestling Entertainment television programming. Calaway said in a statement to LegendsChampionshipWrestling.com, "We respect Piper and love featuring him in our storylines, but Legends Championship Wrestling has always been intended for legends not regularly featured on WWE or TNA television programming and Piper has been on WWE several times over the past few weeks. We're forced to remove him from our product." Calaway said that he expected Piper to be featured in LCW storylines in the future and wished him the best on his future involvement with WWE and his future endeavors.

Piper was stripped of the LCW United States Championship after his second appearance on WWE Monday Night Raw two weeks ago and a battle royal was held last week on LCW Showdown to crown a new champion. Ken Patera won the battle royal to become the new LCW United States Champion last week on LCW Showdown. Click here for the complete results.
