[Feature Story] Nikita Koloff Talks About Stealing Austin's Title

LegendsChampionshipWrestling.com spoke with Nikita Koloff this afternoon only three days after he walked out of the Pavilion in Villanova, PA, after LCW Showdown went off the air with the LCW Universal Championship grasped firmly in his hands. Koloff had stolen the title from reigning champion Stone Cold Steve Austin after savagely attacking Austin at the end of the show.

In a telephone interview with LegendsChampionshipWrestling.com Koloff said, "I'm champion now and anyone who don't like that is welcome to try and take title from me. All I ever want to be is champion and I am champion again."

When confronted with the fact that he didn't legitimately win the title last Wednesday on LCW Showdown, Koloff said, "I didn't lose title legitimate either. I was screwed out of championship by someone who was supposed to my friend because he wanted to show Stone Cold Rattlesnake Austin that he had changed."

Koloff was referring to the fact that Calaway cost him the title in a ladder match at the LCW Redemption Day 2007 pay-per-view, but technically Koloff did legitimately lose the title a month prior at the LCW Night of Horrors 2007 pay-per-view. Immediately after Austin won the title at LCW Night of Horrors, Calaway granted Kokloff a rematch, but in the month between Koloff losing the title and the rematch at LCW Redemption Day, Calaway was held hostage and shot by the Iron Shiek on an episode of LCW Showdown and almost lost his life during the surgery to remove the bullets.

In the weeks that followed, Calaway tried to prove to Austin that he was a changed man. At the LCW Night of Horrors pay-per-view, during Koloff's ladder match rematch with Austin, Calaway got into the ring and, in a shocking twist of events, allowed Austin to finish climbing the ladder to win the match and retain his title.

Koloff continued, "Well, I changed man too, but (former LCW Chairman of the Board Christian) Calaway won't speak to me. So I have to get his attention and this Wednesday on LCW Showdown ... I think I will have his attention."

When LegendsChampionshipWrestling.com attempted to inquire about what Koloff had planned, Koloff abruptly hung up the phone effectively ending the interview.

Austin, who was reached via telephone only moments ago, angrily responded saying, "I don't give a damn what Koloff's got planned for Calaway. All I care about is my title. If you talk to that dumb son of a bitch again, tell him I want my damn title back. That son of a bitch took what's mine and the next time I see him, it's going to be mine again one way or another."
