[Breaking News] LCW Founder Christian Calaway Comments On WWE Raw Rating

LCW Founder Christian Calaway sent this email to the staff of LegendsChampionshipWrestling.com to be posted on the website after he heard about the rating that WWE Monday Night Raw scored last night after their $1 million dollar giveaway which was supposed to generate interest in the product failed to do so.

"Now, I'll be honest from the beginning and say that I catch WWE and TNA television programming when I can and when I do watch their TV it's almost exclusively on my DVR, but I've gotten a lot of emails about the $1 million giveaway that WWE is currently running, wanting to know my opinion of the strategy and the seeming failure of that strategy. So here's what I think.


I've been told and have read online that Monday Night Raw garnered a overnight rating of 3.0 for last night's show. Admittedly, I didn't watch the show live and probably won't have time, with LCW Showdown on Wednesday and LCW SuperClash, the biggest show of the year for Legends Championship Wrestling, rapidly approaching on Sunday.

I know the rating has got to be hurting WWE as they were hoping this would generate significant interest in the product. I hate to sound like a jerk, but you know what, maybe it's time for WWE to investigate some other creative alternatives. Maybe a fresh new voice in the creative meetings. Maybe it's time to stop giving away money and start building compelling, gripping, dramatic storylines and characters and give the audience something to give a damn about. All I know is that while WWE's ratings continue to drop, interest in Legends Championship Wrestling continues to increse every week. Now, I'm not saying I'm the solution, but I'm certainly a cheaper option than giving away $1 million this week and $1 million next week. It's just something to think about.
