[Showdown Segment] Baby Doll's Return On LCW Showdown

LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway was prepared to welcome "The Perfect 10" back to Legends Championship Wrestling, but while Calaway had promised a red carpet return for Baby Doll, you'll never believe what he had planned for her only weeks after finding out that it was really Baby Doll who shot him last year and not the Iron Sheik while they were being held hostage by Sheik. But Calaway wasn't the only one with surprises as Baby Doll had a few surprises for Calaway.
Join us as we take a look back at last week's edition of LCW Showdown and the segment that saw the return of Baby Doll:
---
In the ring, the “Doll House” interview segment set had been setup in the ring and a red carpet lined the entrance ramp. LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway was in the ring and introduced Baby Doll as Family Force 5 performed Baby Doll’s theme song, “Luv Addict,” live as she made her way down to the ring with Tully Blanchard, who was on crutches. Baby Doll and Blanchard got into the ring and Baby Doll gave Calaway a hug, but Calaway seemed hesitant to hug her and quickly broke the embrace.
Calaway welcomed Baby Doll back after her shoulder injury at LCW Uprising two months ago and asked her how she was doing. Baby Doll said she was doing great and said it was great to be back. Baby Doll asked Calaway how he was doing and he told Baby Doll that he was feeling better than ever since being shot by the Iron Sheik last year. Calaway said he was doing even better now that the bullet that was lodged near his heart had been removed from his chest by doctors after LCW SuperClash.
Calaway said he wanted to show Baby Doll some special footage which played on the LegendsTron. The footage showed Calaway in his hospital bed two weeks ago being told that the bullet was from a gun registered to Nickla Roberts Smith, known professionally as Baby Doll. After the footage stopped playing on the LegendsTron, Baby Doll tried to explain, but Calaway said, “You know what, Nickla. I don’t want to hear it. After all I’ve done for you over the past several years. I put you back in the spotlight. I made you a legend again.”
Baby Doll grabbed the microphone from Calaway and said, “Wait a minute, you made me a legend? Let’s get something straight right now. I made myself a legend. And if anyone besides me could take credit for having a role, for playing a part in making me a legend, it isn’t you. It would be Tully Blanchard or it would be Ric Flair or it would be Dusty Rhodes, but it most certainly wouldn’t be you. But I’ll admit, I’ll be honest and say that you gave me a second chance. You put me in the spotlight again, but you didn’t make me a legend. I have always been, and I will always be the Perfect 10. As a matter of fact, I was the Perfect 10 while you were still playing with action figures and dreaming of doing this thing we do.”
Calaway grabbed the microphone from Baby Doll and said, “But now that I do this thing we do, let me remind you of something. You’d be smart to remember who’s ring your in. You’d be smart to remember who you work for. You’d be smart to remember who signs your paychecks. You know, the police asked me if I wanted to press charges, but I said I would take care of it because I knew that I could hurt you more than they could. You shot me and now I want to shoot you where it hurts. I want to hurt you as you hurt me. And when I hurt you, I want it to be in a way that will keep on hurting you. Nickla, effective immediately…you’re fired!”
As the audience exploded, Baby Doll looked and grabbed the microphone from Calaway and said, “Excuse me! You’re firing me? You’re firing me! Let me remind you what happened when you released me two years ago. The ratings dropped and you begged me to come back. You begged me to come back to LCW and I did because we were friends and I cared about you and I knew that your releasing me wasn’t personal. And when I came back last year, not only did the ratings get better, but you booked yourself with the Perfect 10 because you knew with me by your side, you would be main event. You would be just like Tully Blanchard, just like Ric Flair, just like Dusty Rhodes… main event! They were great, but with me by their side, I made them main event. But you, no matter what you do, no matter how hard you try, you will never be main event. You’re just a lost little man with a laptop, this little company, and some power, but no matter how hard you try to distance yourself from them, you’ll always be just like all of these people…a loser, dreaming of greatness, but always falling short."
Baby Doll continued, "As for shooting you…yeah, I shot you! I shot you because you failed me. You let me down. When I came back to LCW last year you promised me movie roles and spots on television. But more than anything else, you promised me what Jim Crockett, Jr., kept from me, you promised me a spread in Playboy. And then when it was about to happen, when Hugh Heffner offered me the spread in Playboy, you’re ego stopped it from happening. You said you were protecting me, but you weren’t protecting me. You were using me so you could stroke your ego by challenging Hugh Heffner. I made you main event and you used that to get in a league Hugh Heffner, but like always, you didn’t measure up. Hell, you didn’t even get a match with Hugh Heffner because he outmaneuvered you. You got your ass kicked by The Rock and if it wasn’t for Tully Blanchard you would have never beaten him.”
Calaway grabbed the microphone from Baby Doll and said, “You know what, Nickla, at the end of the day it doesn’t matter what you say. I’m sick of it. I’m sick of the drama, I’m sick of the lies, and quite frankly, Nickla, I’m sick of you. And you’re still fired. So if you wouldn’t mind getting out of my ring, I’d like to get on with the rest of the show.”
Baby Doll grabbed the microphone from Calaway and said, “Well, I’m not going anywhere and I’ll tell you why.” Calaway asked for security to come out and escort her out of the ring. Baby Doll said, “You can get security to escort me out of here tonight, but I’ll just be back next week. And you can have security escort me out again next week, but I’ll just be back the week after that. Because while you can have me escorted out of the arena, you can’t fire me! Because before Ole Anderson left Legends Championship Wrestling, I spoke with Ole Anderson because I’m not stupid. I knew you’d figure it out sooner or later that it was me that shot you and I knew you’d try to fire me. So I spoke with Ole Anderson before he resigned as LCW General Manager and he renewed my contract, but because he, unlike you, knows and respects my value and contributions to this business, granted me a final request before he left. Not only did Ole Anderson renewed my contract, he granted me a lifetime contract!”
As the audience responded, Calaway looked mad, and got in Baby Doll’s face and said, “Over my dead my body.” Baby Doll got in Calaway’s face even more and said, “Get me a gun and I’d be willing to try again.” Calaway said, “You know what, I’m done. Forget about firing you since apparently I can’t, but you know what I can do? How about I just call the police and tell them I’ve changed my mind about pressing charges? And while I’ve got them on the phone, I can tell them about you threatening to shoot me again?” Baby Doll said, “How about this…”
Tully Blanchard, who Calaway had forgotten was in the ring with them, raised his crutch and blasted Calaway across the back with the crutch. With Calaway on the mat writhing in pain, Blanchard raised the crutch and brought it down across Calaway’s back again, breaking the crutch in half. As Baby Doll kicked at the fallen Calaway, Blanchard hobbled around the ring destroying the “Doll House” set with his remaining crutch. Security officials ran into the ring and escorted Blanchard and Baby Doll from ringside as medical officials ran in to check on Calaway.
