[Feature Story] Legends Donate in Support of Dr. Death Steve Williams

On February 1, 2009, Wrestlers Rescue began a fundraising campaign to help raise approximately $20,000 for Dr. Death Steve Williams. Williams underwent throat cancer surgery in 2004, and was declared cancer-free in 2005. During the surgery to remove the cancer and to reconstruct his throat the doctors inserted a unit called a Stoma. This unit requires him to place his thumb over the hole in the stoma when he wishes to communicate. As science has progressed, it now leaves Williams eligible to obtain a hands free device. As you can only imagine this would provide a more convenient and healthier way of life for him.

Since starting the campaign, many of Williams' fellow legends, and even the WWE, have given to the charity memorabilia for them to auction off to raise funds for Williams' hands free device.

So far, Nora "Molly Holly" Greenwald has donated signed copies of her shoot interview DVD, Amy "Lita" Dumas has donated a signed T-shirt, Bill Goldberg has donated a signed photo and trading card, and the WWE donated a signed WWE Heavyweight Replica Belt signed by John Cena, Rey Mystero, Chris Jericho, Ric Flair, and

Also, Wrestlers Rescue is raffling off a autographed cowboy hat donated by Williams' long-time friend, Jim Ross. Click here for more information and to purchase your raffle tickets now!

Jim Cornette donated a signed copy of his newly released "The Midnight Express and Jim Cornette 25th Anniversary Scrapbook." This book is signed by Jim Cornette, Stan Lane, Dennis Condrey, and Bobby Eaton. There are only 250 copies of these books signed, but you can win one in an auction on May 1, starting at $30, by visiting Wrestlers Rescue's

Mick Foley recently made two unique donations to the Dr. Death campaign: an autographed flannel and the WWE SummerSlam 2008 T-shirt worn underneath for one lucky auction winner to add to their collection. He wore these items on his last televised appearance for the WWE on July 29, 2008. The price on these items will start at $150.00, on April 11, 2009.
